Sound Bowl Shavasana
Sound Bowl Shavasana
Join us for a 1 hour Sound Bowl Shavasana on Monday, December 16th! We are taking the best of both worlds….everyone’s favorite Yoga Pose “Shavasana” (the little nap or rest period at the end of yoga class) AND Sound Bowls for a full immersion of rest, relaxation, and stress relief as you’re bathed in harmonic sound for a full hour!!
Please bring the following items to help with your comfort/support:
Pillow(s) - Pillows can be really supportive while laying on the floor. You can use one for your head, your hips, under your knees, etc.
Blankets(s) - people can have a tendency to get cold when they move into the parasympathetic as your core body temp re-regulates.
A kinder mat - some people enjoy a little more comfort while laying on the floor, feel free to bring a mat of your choice if you’d like! Yoga mats will be provided
Zero gravity chair - yesssss…some people enjoy their sessions in a comfy recliner or chair. Especially for those individuals who have limited mobility and can NOT get up and down off the floor. Thats ok!! you can enjoy a session as well!! Simply bring your own favorite relining chair! Please make sure its a chair that gives you head support…trust me, this is important as you relax! We have TWO Zero gravity chairs that you’re welcome to use however they are first come, first serve! If you’d like to use one, please arrive a little early to claim a chair vs a yoga mat. :)

***We have blankets, yoga mats and bolsters if needed!
***Some people feel a little “un-grounded” after a session. Especially if you had a lot come up for you. We have a wonderful Grounding mat your welcome to sit with after the sound bath!

Why are sound baths “healing”?!
Thats a good question!! Sound Baths often get side railed into the area of woowoo or “way to hippie for me”…. when we need to let go of that notion! Sound, no different than our favorite tunes on the radio, induces feelings depending on the song. These feelings can be happy, sad, angry, etc depending on how it hits you…and your stress receptors. While we all have different levels of stress or trauma, sometimes simply sitting, relaxing, and listening to music can help our brains….and our autonomic nervous system…. relax or release those pent up emotions. This can be in the form of tears, laughter, etc. Just like your favorite work out songs that really get your PUMPED, music and sound help in this area of stress relief. Once you add in “reverberation”, its hits you in a whole new level!!! Ya know the feeling you get when you hear a GONG…and then the tone as it reverberates out?! You get this same resonance during a Sound Bowl session…but for a solid hour!! Our bodies react to this resonance or reverberation in a variety of ways!! Now here’s the science!
Studies have shown that the body responds to sound healing in some pretty amazing ways! Research has shown that sound reverberation or frequencies can have a variety of effects on the brain and body such as:
Relaxation - Sound healing can slow brain waves and put the body in a relaxed state. It can also activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the opposite of the stress response.
Improved mood - Sound healing can influence mood and perception by relaxing the system.
Pain relief - Sound healing can reduce muscle pain and stiffness by relaxing stress induced muscles, and alleviate menstrual symptoms.
Improved sleep quality - Sound healing can improve sleep quality. Most individuals report a full nights sleep after a sound bath session!
Improved immune function - Sound healing can improve immune function by relaxing stress induced muscles, which helps the fascia release its hold on your lymphatic vessels. Once the lymphatics are able to flow, this in turn helps with your immune system as the immune system and our lymphatic system are essentially one in the same in many ways!
Improved focus - Sound healing can enhance focus. “Not so fun fact”….. when we are in severe, long term stress (sometimes we don’t even realize it), our sympathetic nervous system becomes “larger” in the brain because it thinks you’re in danger. It thinks you NEED to always be on edge and on guard for the next thing to happen. When this happens, it takes away from the function of our hippocampus. Our hippocampus is responsible for memory, especially short term memory. So as we get stressed, have chronic stress or have had a trauma response due to trauma, our hippocampus essentially shirks to make way for your personal safety by being able to fight, flee, fawn or freeze…. for safety instead of retaining short term memory. This is a primal response in our body to keep us safe. Our body doesn’t know if we are being chased by a tiger or if we had betrayal trauma. Its feels the trauma the same.
Heightened spiritual awareness - Sound healing can heighten spiritual awareness! Feel free to pray or enjoy your session as you deeply connect to your spiritual beliefs as you are called to!
Sound healing can work by:
Stimulating the release of different neurotransmitters and hormones
Modulating neural activity
Vibrating tactile sensors in the body
Stimulating the vagus nerve, which can help if it's “stuck” to get it “un-stuck”

Join us for our FREE Wellness Workshop: Lymphatics Part 2 - Gua Sha & Dry Brushing
In this workshop, Jennifer will give us a 15 min brief summary of our Lymphatics from Part 1. Kaitlynn, our Licensed Esthetician will then join us for the remainder of the evening as she teaches us the proper techniques for facial Gua Sha & body dry brushing for optimal lymphatic flow from head to toe!
Kaitlynn will have Gua Sha and Dry Brushing kits available for purchase that night. Feel free to purchase one before class and use to follow along during class. OR feel free to bring your own if you'd like to follow along! This is an interactive class however participating is not mandatory!! Your are welcome to simply listen and take notes :)

Summer Yoga Break is over soon and it’s time to bring our regularly scheduled Yoga Classes BACK on Sept 25th!!!
Wednesdays at 5:30pm is our Vinyasa Inspired Flow Yoga Class. Depending on the evening, this could be a Gentle Flow, a Power Flow or a little bit of both!
Thursdays at 5:30pm - class varies from YIN, Somatics, Tabata Infusion or a Vinyasa Flow Inspired class. The usual rotation is:
-1st Thursday: YIN Yoga
-2nd Thursday: Somatic Yoga
-3rd Thursday: Flow
-4th Thursday: Tabata Infusion
***These dates are subject to change depending on severe weather, holidays, special guest instructors, etc etc.

Ayurveda for Autumn
Autumn is a sacred time when we begin to sense the shift of the winds, we adorn scarves and leggings, putting away summer garments in exchange for cozy sweaters and finding comfort in warm nourishing beverages.
Aryurveda is the 5000 year old ancient practice the teaches us how to live in harmony with nature and reconnect with our Divine right to heal. It teaches us how to find harmony within every aspect of our lives. It is here that we integrate our internal knowing and find alignment with an intimate understanding of how to change and merge with the season.
Join us for an afternoon on Saturday, Sept 14th from 2pm to 5pm…. of investigation and discussion around the beloved practice of Ayurveda, connection with beautiful community and celebrating the abundance of the season through nourishing food

Join us for another Breathwork Journey and Sound Bath experience lead by Jenny Bonta of the Sacred Womens Collective! Jenny’s goal is to help lead women in a safe space of developing community and support as we navigate this stressful world.
During the session, You will be led through intensive breathwork techniques to bring you to a deep, meditative, dream-like state. As you are in this active meditative state, you will experience a sound bath, where the frequency of the sound waves will be intensified, bringing you deep calm and relaxation.
